Decorationg the Christmas Tree

As we have done for years we put up our Christmas tree yesterday and decorated it tonight for Family Home Evening. Sorry for Eliza's cheerleader outfit from High School Musical. My kids have an aversion to clothes and were told they couldn't decorate the tree until they had clothes on since I was taking pictures, so she went upstairs and got out an outfit from the dress up bucket. Not exactly what I had in mind, but I guess I shouldn't complain. She has something on!

New Car

Our white minivan started having problems a year ago and we were told by a mechanic that our 1996 van's transmission was starting to go out. He could give it a transmission service but he couldn't guarantee how long it would last. Well it lasted a little over a year and about two weeks ago it started having problems again. John and I went down to Bakersfield and looked at cars but John and I haven't had a car payment in 5 years and didn't really want one right before the holiday so the decision was we wouldn't buy right then since the van was still working. We would use it as long as we could get away with it until we would have to buy a new car. Well, that was Saturday and the following Monday while taking the kids to school the car broke down and would not start going again. :-( After having it looked at we were told that the transmission had gone out and would be $4,000+ to fix it. :-( We decided that a 14 year old car with 190,000 miles on it was not worth the $4,000+ so we went back to Bakersfield and got a new (well new to us) car.

We now have a 2009 Mazda5 stationwagon. It was a dealership car so was only used by the dealership this last year so has very low miles which is wonderful!

Eliza at Thanksgiving Time

Eliza helped Grandma make cinnamon applesauce. She loved stirring the apples as they cooked.


She also helped make pies for Thanksgiving Dessert. She also enjoyed eating them as much as making them. She even used two forks so she could put more in at a time.

If you start something with grandpa......

you better be ready to have him finish it! Addison learned that grandpa is VERY ticklish. So, he just could not let it go, and kept tickling grandpa. Grandpa then got revenge.

He thinks he is part human........

We laugh at out dog who thinks he is part human. He sits in chairs like this. It looks pretty funny.

Turkey's Go On Strike

Addison's 2nd grade class along with three other 2nd grade classes did the musical Turkey's Go On Strike. It is the same one Vincent did in 2nd grade. Vincent was a pilgram and Addison was a TV Reporter. He had fun doing it and enjoyed going dressed in a suit and tie. His friend Karly was a cranberry. Nicholas has been in the hospital the weekend before with complications with croup and asthma. Not a great combo. Even though he was doing better he was still not released to go back to school and we didnt want to bring him out in the night air to catch anything else, so Eliza and I attended Addison's performance. His class was selling hot chocolate and churros for 25 cents each to make money for furture field trips. It made both Eliza's and Addison's evening.
