Nicholas & Miss. Linda

Nicholas has been in Miss. Linda's pre-Kinder class this year and she is WONDERFUL! She has helped Nicholas grow so much this last year, that I think he just may be ready socially for Kindergarten in the fall.

Eliza & Miss Sylvia

Eliza is in Miss. Sylvia's 2/3 year old class at Sunny Acres and loves it! We love Miss Sylvia too as she has been there since Vincent started.

Nicholas' Graduation

I as a mom was very nervous for this graduation. Nicholas is my shyest child and they have been practicing their graduation for over a month and he would not do it. He kept pulling his shirt up over his head or crying. My concern was that was just practice with the teachers. What was this child going to do when he did it in front of parents? :-/. I dropped him off in his classroom and he sat down with his lower lip out and looked like he was going to start crying. His teacher told me not to worry no matter what he did they were fine with it to just go take my seat. I snapped this quick picture and then went outside and took my seat. Doesn't he look so excited?

HE DID IT!
He sang his songs. Stood when he was suppose to stand, and didn't pull his shirt over his head or cry. Then when it was time to get his diploma he came up shook his teachers hand and then walked over and took him bow. There was a pause in the graduation as the teachers all stood in amazement and them through the microphone you hear "Whoa he did it" Then it went on. All those other parents probably have no understanding why that phrase was said, but this proud momma does, and she is so PROUD of her graduate!

Swimming at the Richey's

We had Addison's birthday party out at the Richey's and had a blast. We asked the kids some things they would like to do for summer and swimming is always a big one. I asked the Richey's if we could come out and swim for a family activity and they told us absolutely. We have since started going once a week and the kids love it. The Richey's youngest son just left on a mission so they are empty nesters so she said she is also excited to have someone to use their pool. They have a pool house with a bathroom so we can come and go as we please and not bother them or have a worry for a bathroom. It is nice and works out for both of us. I just email her after FHE when we decide what day we are swimming so she can let her yard service and house maids know that we will be out on the property and we are set. This last week since my mom is visiting she went with us. We even found frog swimming in their pool. Addison was in heaven and was planning on bringing it home. :-( So sad though (sigh of relief) It didn't stay in the planter where he put it so he couldn't find it when it was time to go home.

In Nicholas' and Addison's room they use to have bunk beds. When we moved into this house we separated them and put them side by side since the have a large bedroom (bigger than the master bedroom) and since they have low ceilings. My boys decided that it would be fun to jump from one bed to the next and then up into the window. Of a second story non the less (the things boys come up with to do). We heard a bang and then Nicholas screaming and John and I both ran over to see his head bleeding. He had missed and smacked into the window frame and window ceil and got a dual cut on his forehead. Since we were dealing with battle wounds we hadn't sat them down to talk about the danger of doing that and to make the necessary changes so they couldn't do that when we head Eliza screaming. She had missed too and bit straight through her tongue. YUCKY! We didn't get pictures of Eliza's wound. IT IS GROSS but we have had a talk about their "activity". Put up curtains that are heavy and block the window Ceil and have moved the beds closer to the opposite wall.

Addison and Miklynn

If you have read post I have done before, or if you know my son Addison personally you know he is a little ladies man, and prefers older women. LOL! Since I serve in the YW he has several YW he has eyes for and wants to come along to a lot of my activities. One of the other leaders has a little girl who is the same age as Addison and sometimes because of her husbands work schedule she has to bring her to YW. I started letting Addison go so the two of them could play together. One particular activity they YW were playing a game and they needed to be in teams. They were odd out so one of the leaders said she would team up with someone but Miklynn said no she would team up with Addison. The two of them were having a blast and when Miklynn's mom got there her chin dropped as Miklynn is not one for being with kids. She has always said she has no desire to have children. :-( So her mom was shocked to see her playing with Addison and having such a good time. Now another side note Miklynn is biracial. Her mom is white her dad is African American. Mikylnn and Addison came running by and Miklynn looked at her mom and said, "Hey mom Addison and I are team Oreo." I thought her mother was going to fall over as she was laughing to hard. I didn't know how to respond at first. Her mom asked if we were almost done and we told her within ten minutes so she said she needed to run a super quick errand. She ran down the block to Wal*Mart and came back with a bag of Oreos for Addison and Miklynn to share. Now anytime they know Addison is going to be with me for an activity Miklynn brings a bag of Oreos for the two of them to share. Last week at the YW Pool Party was no exception. John and I know that Addison has no clue what Team Oreo means and we have decided not to share that with him for fear he could say it to the wrong person and offend them. Right now he is just excited as every time Miklynn comes he gets a bag of Oreos to share with her.

Avila Beach Barn

My mom found this nice barn near the beach that has animals you can feed and then a farmers market to buy fruits and vegetables they grow. You can by the fruits and vegetables already picked for you or they give you a free tractor ride out to their fields and you can pick your own fruits and vegetables. My kids loved feeding the animals there. They also had a huge stack of hay that Nicholas loved climbing up.

$5 Walmart Find

My mom and I ran to Walmart as I forgot to pack us toothbrushes and they had this slip and slide in the front for $5.00. My mom and I thought it would be fun so she picked it up. Jadyn came over and the kids enjoyed the evening playing on the slip and slide.

So much fun was being had by the kids that John decided to give it a try too. I did get that on video also, but well, it can't be shown on here. Let's just say his shorts were fine when he started but when he got to the other end.......my mom and I were laughing hysterically, John was very red, and the little girl from next door (Jadyn) decided it was time for her to go home. LOL! Hey Mom Wilder...maybe you should pick one of these up for your back yard while we are there and maybe John will give a repeat performance

San Luis Mission/Bubble Gum Alley

While visiting my parents we went to San Luis and went to the mission and then I took my kids to Bubble Gum Alley (I added a few pieces back in my day!) When we turned into Bubble Gum Alley Eliza said, "Ewww, that's gross!", and had a very concerned look on her face. We didn't stay there long!

Primary End of School Year Pool Party

As they have every year since we moved here they had an end of the school year pool party primary activity. The kids had a blast! Miss Eliza "Miss No Fear" was making me soooo nervous as she was walking clear up to her neck and walking around without the slightest concern or worry. She even tried to jump in at the three feet section and had an "Eliza Melt Down" when John and I explained that she wouldn't be able to touch the bottom so it wasn't safe. Addison and Vincent were all over the place and enjoyed the slide a lot!





Here is a picture of my new primary class. These little spirits have gone through more teachers over the past two years than I can count on my hand. :-(

After their last teacher asked to be released a month ago the Primary President called and asked as parents we help pray for the class and what needed to be done. After much prayer here too and after visiting with the bishop about my callings and other matters I knew what was to be done. I asked the Primary President if I could take on the challenge of the class. Through tears (on both of us) she said it would be an answer to prayers. I have been with them two weeks. Sad to say they got to me my first day and I came home and cried, but this last Sunday I went back again with another tactic to try, AND IT WORKED! Not sure how long it will work...I have already started looking for another one when this one wears off. :-)! I pray to have nothing but the deepest love for these little but mighty spirits, and hope that we can work together to make Sunday's great. And yes, one of my children...My wild child Addison is in this "Monster" class!

Rumpus In The Rainforest

Vincent's class along with another 3rd grade class put on the musical Rumpus in The Rainforest. Vincent was an Army Ant. When he came home and told me about the play he told me that he needed a shirt that matched the color animal he was. So I said, "So I need to get you a black shirt?" He said, "No mom I am not a common ant I am an army ant I need a red shirt." So we got out a red shirt and the night of the play he wore his red shirt....to be the only army ant in a red shirt. :-( I felt so bad for him as he stuck out, and the other third grade teacher made a comment to him about his shirt which embarrassed him too. When we got home he went straight to his room and a came out a little later with one of his many animal encyclopedia's and showed me a picture of an army ant... Well I guess Vincent can take pride in knowing he was the only one dressed correctly as the body of an army ant is RED. Other than Vincent standing out in his red shirt. It was a cute play.

Mr. Stinson & Addison

Addison has been in Mr. Stinson's 1st grade class for the 2009/2010 School Year. Mr. Stinson has been wonderful for Addison our very social child. He has redirected Addison to his seat several times and through it all done it with love....After Christmas John and I got a call from Mr. Stinson asking us if we could have a talk with Addison that his talking had gotten a little disruptive and he needed him to stay in his seat and get his work done. John and I that night talked to Addison about staying in his seat to get his work done and not going around talking to other kids who were also trying to get their work done. We explained that his work was important so he needed to get it done. The next day we got an email telling us thanks and that Addison had had a great day. The next day however, I get another phone call from Mr. Stinson but this time he is laughing. He said that Addison had done wonderful the day before as mentioned in his email. However, that day he was once again doing reading groups and could hear talking and looked up and Addison once again was not at his seat. He found him at another table talking away. He said, "Addison." And before he could say anything else, Addison held up his work packet and a pencil and said, "Don't worry Mr. Stinson, I brought my work with me. I am getting it done." Well, I guess no one said he wasn't a problem solver!
We are also very sad to see Mr. Stinson go. With the California budget cuts they have done away with the 20 students to one teacher law, so thousands of California teachers were pink slipped. Mr. Stinson was one of them. The School doesn't realize what a great teacher they are loosing!
