We are trying something new in sports this year. For the last three years we have done little league but this year we decided to give soccer a try. The boys got to go get soccer cleats and have had three practices so far. Vincent as we had thought does not have the best cordination for kicking and running at the same time, but we can hope this can help a little right????? Addison on the other hand is having a hard time with the concept "dribble" the ball. Since they play on a small field and he has a powerful kick why not just launch it to the other side of the field, and then run like lightning to it and kick it again. I guess John and I better learn some soccer basics and start practicing at home.

First Day of School

Vincent and Addison have both started this school year and have so far had a lot of fun. Both of them have first time teachers this year. Addison's teacher makes me feel my age as she just graduated from college and she also just got married this last March. Addison our little ladies man of course has already got eyes for his teacher and I had to laugh the other day when I went to pick him up when he said, "Look at Mrs. McDannald mom, doesn't she look nice today?" When I went to Back to School night I was visiting with his teacher and she said he is a complete joy, but she has to laugh as she said that at the age of five the kids will usually separate themselves boys/girls as they have the mindset the other gender has cooties, well my son lines up with the girls and will sit in the middle of the girls during circle time. Did I mention he was a ladies man???
Vincent started second grade and has a teacher that got started on a whirlwind, but things seem to be going o-kay and although she does not have the best discipline structure in her classroom she has a lot of neat lessons and activities for the class and we are hopeful that as the year goes on and through experience for her things will go better. His teacher is a permanent substitute as his teacher is on medical leave and we found out at Back to School Night that as it stands now her leave will last the whole school year.

Wilder Family Vacation Day 7 8/10

Wouldn't you know it we over slept this morning. We knew that church started at 9am and John and I had been up by 5:30/6:00am all week long without an alarm clock. We had to also check out of our motel room before we left for church so Saturday night I got everything in piles and the plan was to get up at 5:30am John and I to get ready and then load the car and get kids up and head to church. Well, I got up and looked over at the clock and had to do a double take. It was 7:45am! Needless to say John and I jumped up he got ready for church and his sister and brother-in-law came and picked him up. I got the joy of getting kids ready and doing the last minute packing and loading of the car. We met up with the family at his moms house for a luncheon and then we were on our way to Mesquite, Neveda. We were heading home. We stopped at a rest stop to use the restrooms and stretch our legs and the kids found a great climbing tree. We hung around the rest stop longer then we normally would, but the kids were having so much fun, and they were more content to get back in the car. We stayed at the Oasis Resort in Mequite and headed the rest of the way home on Monday. And that concludes the Wilder Summer Vacation!

Wilder Family Vacation Day 6 8/9

We headed to the Hogle Zoo today. There was two things against the Zoo. It was Hot and it was Crowded. Two things I do not do well in. The other thing was my kids where hungry so they complained a lot! We enjoyed the bird show, and Vincent enjoyed reading the Animal Markers, and they all loved the White Alligator. Fun outing but would have preferred different weather and less people.
After the Zoo we headed to the house of some dear friends of mine. There we had a BBQ and enjoyed a visit. I look at them as my Utah Family and miss them so dearly. They opened up their home to me when I moved from California to Utah to attend school. I knew that I always had a place to go if I needed something. Two of their granddaughters where also in my wedding. It was so fun to see everyone again. Sad, also in the same instance that Byron could not be there in person, but I know he was there in spirit.

Wilder Family Vacation Day 5 8/8

An early morning once again as we had to get up and get ready for family pictures. We headed up the side of the mountain to have family pictures but the boys were not having any of it. Nicholas was sticking out his lower lip and hiding his face. Eliza just had no plans of having to sit still and the older boys were having more fun climbing up and down the stairs and jumping down the seats that all I saw was broken bones. As we were leaving I sat my kids each on this rock and took their picture. I have not seen what the professionals pictures look like, but they did well with mine (yeah for at least something nice!) They were so over tired and acting out that even though we were suppose to head to the Dinosaur Museum from pictures John and I decided that they could use some quite time and an actual nap instead of a cat nap here and a cat nap there. I am so happy we made that decision. We had so much fun up at Thanksgiving Point. My boys were in heaven and even though it cost a lot of money and at first I was questioning it, John and I agree it was the highlight of the whole trip and we will take them there again the next time we go to Utah. There was so many fun things for them to do that I cannot begin to even name them all.
