Crazy Hat Day

Today is crazy hat day at Vincent and Addison's school. Vincent is too cool to wear a crazy hat, but Addison was all over it and wore John's Indiana Jones hat to school. We didn't think it was that crazy of a hat, but that is what he chose. Nicholas then needed a hat too to wear to preschool so he wore John's R2D2 hat. Eliza just needed to be apart of the picture. I guess "Wild Woman Hair" that has not been combed for the day cuts the bill as a crazy hat.

Trunk Or Treat

Our wards trunk or treat was last night. The kids played games and went around the parking lot a few times (Addison by the amount of his candy probably a lot of times), and had a great time. By 8 pm they were done and all wanted to come home. Vincent's friend Erik came along with us so we drove him home and surprising to me even though they just had a lot of candy, none of them fought going to bed when we got home.

The Highlight of the night was that Kiss showed up in their white van with a smog machine and some of their awesome tunes playing. I think they were there to help hand out candy to the kids, but unfortunately they had a longer line of adults wanting their picture taken with them!

Pumpkin Patch at Sunny Acres

The Preschool I have used for years, always had a field trip to the local pumpkin patch around Halloween. Last year the preschool thought it would be fun to make a patch at the preschool and not make the trip with 40 3-5 year olds. It was such a hit that they did it again this year and added more to it. The director asked me if I could come and stay for the day and help with the different activities, and that if I would Eliza could come for the day for free. We had a lot of fun. They had a face painting booth, stick on tattoo booth, orange and black play doh with Halloween cookie cutters table etc.... My kids had a blast. Nicholas of course would not get his face painted as that would be messy, but Eliza had every inch of her face and hands covered in either tattoos face paint.

Car Seat and Swings

Eliza was given this pink carseat when she was about 18 months old and she loved it. She got car sick in it a few months back and I was not in a position to wash it just then as we had other errands to run. So that was the day Nicholas got moved into a booster seat and I let Eliza use his until I could get hers washed up and back in the car. It got cleaned up and then stacked in the garage with all the other car seats in the garage, and she continued to use Nicholas' old car seat. The one she has been using the past few months was starting to smell so I pulled it out to wash it up and remembered the pink car seat. I got it out and rewashed it since it has been in the garage these past few month and she was SO excited. After it came out of the dryer and I got it together. She sat in it on the couch and watch cartoons for about an hour. Every time she gets in the car she has to remind me that she has a pretty pink car seat.

We have a lot of family coming into town this weekend for Vincent's Baptism. John's sister is staying with us and she has a new little girl. Since Eliza is our last we have been getting rid of baby things as she grows out of them. My mom is still doing child care and she is taking care of a baby so she has some of our old things and she has picked up things along the way. We borrowed this swing from my mom so Zoey would have something to sit in while here visiting. Eliza thinks it is the greatest thing in the world and not only has she been using it, so have her babies. So no worries baby Zoey. Eliza has tried out the swing and it gets her stamp of approval. We may just have to get new batteries for it by the time you get here.

We however wonder how long after you get here that you will have to deal with this with Eliza. This is what Nicholas did to her. She may try it out with you too!

Never Leave Your Camera in Addison's Reach

While downloading pictures tonight I found these pictures of Addison. Apparently he was having a lot of fun, and we can see the family genes of Aunt Jennie coming through with the love of self portraits.

Trying Out Grandma's Skeleton Outfit

My mom has little wooden figure that when dressed looks like a life sized child. For years it has been dressed like a ghost. My mom found this skeleton costumed at Wal*Mart while visiting us, so she decided she would get it and change the costume around this year. Eliza had to give the costume a test run.

Vincent's Birthday

Since Vincent is getting baptized in a week and a half, and we are having a big celebration for his birthday that weekend we didn't have a very big celebration yesterday. However we still had a lot of fun. Of Course I didn't think to take pictures of any of it, but hey we still had fun. Sunday night we made cookies for him to take to school to celebrate his birthday with his classmates. On Monday, I babysit one of his classmates whom is also a friend of his so we got permission for him to spend the afternoon and we would take him home after dinner. They ran around the house like wild comanches until 4pm, when I made them all get to the table to do homework. Erik thought it was great that I played classical music while my kids worked on homework. Then I let them each decorate one cup cake and eat it (yes before dinner, but it worked out time wise to do it first). I only had one piano lesson to teach yesterday and needed to teach it and not cancel it, so while I taught the lesson the kids played upstairs. When I was done we headed to Vincent's Pick for dinner which was....

We let them play for an hour before dropping Erik off and heading home for the evening. What a fun day we had! Can't wait for next weekend. I promise to have my camera for that!
