Young Women's Presidency

It is not a new, new calling but I was put in the Young Women's Presidency a few months back and I have been loving it! Two weeks ago we took the Young Men and Women up to the Visalia Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze. All the Young Men's Presidency ran in with the youth, but none of the Young Women's Presidency had any intention of going through. A member of the presidencies husband is in the Bishopric and he showed up a few minutes later and after his wife found out he had no intention of going through the maze either we left him in charge and we left and went to get hot chocolate and sit in a comfortable building while they went through the maze. No worries we were back ten minutes before they even started coming out of the maze.

80's Days

One of my piano students was having 80's day at school. She asked me to come over to her house the night before and we put her hair in A LOT of little braids to help her hair to be BIG and POOFY! With a lot of hair spray and some teasing you get this!

Wilder Halloween 2008

This year for Halloween the kids chose.

Vincent- A Skeleton
Addison- Leonardo
Nicholas- Elmo
Eliza- Abby Cadabby

I am looking forward to their costumes. Especially Nicholas and Eliza. Nicholas at first wanted to be a Ninja Turtle like Addison but then one day changed his mind to be Elmo and has stuck with it since then. Of course I picked Abby Cadabby for Eliza as at 18 months she does not understand what it means to pick a costume. Vincent and Addison felt she should be Ariel, but Alas we will start the Disney Princess I think another year (of course if that is what she wants).

Happy 7th Birthday Vincent!

Today our Vincent turns seven. It doesn't seem possible. He was born in Cedar City, Utah, and was delivered by the late Dr. Oler. As most people know the story we were told we were having a little girl, so we were prepared for a little girl. What a shock in the room when the Dr. Announced, "It was a Boy!" My mom and John had to go to the store the day after he was born to buy him something to wear or the child would have had to come home in a green dress. What a joy Vincent is in our lives. He is a very bright little boy and is always looking for more information to soak up. He LOVES to read and was tested at the beginning of this school year and is now reading at a fourth grade level. He can tell you just about anything about Dinosaurs and Space, and is now doing a lot of reading in a book called a Pet Encyclopedia. It is a big book of animals that can make good pets. He will ask someone what they like and then tell them how to care for their animal, and whether or not it is a good pet for kids or not. He is trying to convince me to let him have a snake (Thanks a lot Uncle Tommy). He has already picked out which one and keeps telling me, "You don't have to be scared mom, it is a friendly snake that won't bite you, just mice."
