Cousins
Since my kids got a new cousin in the last few weeks we have been talking every night at Family Prayer/Scripture Time about extended family and cousins. None of my kids cousins live near by. My brothers son in Nebraska and John's side in Utah. We have a frame in our front room that is shaped like a tree and says family along the roots. I love it. It just had the right number of slots to fit each of John's and mine siblings. We keep pictures of them in there (which Paul and Karalee I need one with you guys and the baby together. Thanks! :-). We check blogs and see pictures of their cousins. Eliza gets very excited to watch video's of her cousin "Bingham" (Brigham) and her new cousin Zoey or as she calls her "My Baby". Lucky to all of you who have your siblings living close by that your kids can have their cousins as some of their best friends.
Here are some pictures of my kids cousins minus my nephew in NE. My sis-in-law asked me not to use her sons picture on the Internet and I am honoring that.

In The Boys Closet!
We have had an eventful week to say the least. Monday morning I got up at 5am so I could mop my entry way and kitchen tile (with four kids it is my favorite time to do it). I took out the trash and recycle first and when I opened the front door the stray cat that adopted us came running in. Not uncommon at all, and John has officially named himself Fred Flinstone as he said he is always throwing the cat out! Usually if we grab her food and take it out to her bowl she follows us right back out, eats, and then we don't see her again until the next morning when it is feeding time again. Anyway she ran in but I had my hands full with a bag of garbage and the recycle box so I went and dumped them both and then came back in and got her some food and put it outside and called her and she never came. I went back to the bedroom and called quietly, but I didn't want to wake the rest of the family. I went about my morning and mopped the floors and cleaned the bathrooms etc...... John got up around 8am and as he came down the hall we heard the Meow and saw the cat coming not far behind him. There was something different about her. She was ummm SKINNY! I told John, "I think that stinkin' stray cat was pregnant and has had her kittens in the house." We searched for awhile, under beds, what have you and could not find them. She was no help as she ate her breakfast outside and then we were hoping she would lead us to them, but she never went back down the hallway she just laid herself down on the front room floor. We kept looking and then realized that she was not in the front room anymore. Vincent joined the search and went to his room and called out that she was in his room. I ran back there and she indeed was in the center of the boys room. When I walked towards her she ran to the closet. I pulled out the three rope bins in the boys closet to find her huddled up in the corner with four baby kittens. They are stickin' cute, but not exactly what I wanted! The kids have been told although they play with them and such, they will be given away when they turn 6 weeks old. So does anyone want a kitten??????

Primary Activity

We went to the City Pool for the end of school year church primary activity again this year. This year however, they did it two hours longer then they have in the past and as luck would have it, it was on the chilly side that day. None the less the kids had fun.

Bus/Train/Park
On our last day we had a fun but busy day. We got up and went to the bus/train station.

The kids had fun playing and waiting for the amtrak bus. When it got there we went on a bus ride from paso Robles, to San Luis Obispo

After we got to San Luis we walked two blocks to a very fun park and played for about an hour.

Then it was back to the train station to ride the TRAIN back to Paso Robles

Swimming In The Cold

One of the things my kids look forward to at grandma's is going swimming. It had been cold since we had pulled into town. This day was a little warmer but only by a few degrees. The kids just kept asking so we finally caved in and let them go. It was sooooooo cold. I only got in to my knees and that was deep enough. The kids were shivering and when asked if they were cold, would say, "Yessssss" and then when asked,"Well do you want to get out?" Shaking "Noooooooo". They lasted about a half hour and then we made them get out.
