Attempt at Family Pictures

Well, what can I say but this was an attempt at some family pictures. Kids just did not all want to cooperate.

Feeding Great Grandpa's Dogs

My grandparents have a dog, but since it is just the two of them at home Sugar is not around kids, so she was not to sure what to think of my kids. She usually just sat behind the chair that my grandpa was sitting in or on the floor right under his feet and would get up and move if my kids came near her. Well, my kids discovered food was the key to her heart. My kids offered her a dog treat and she gladly came out of hiding to get something to eat!

Mmmmmm Donuts

We went to my parents again this last weekend as my paternal grandparents came down from Washington State for a visit, and we have not seen my grandfather since my brothers wedding so he hadn't seen Nicholas since he was three months and had never seen Eliza. We got there Friday evening and then on Saturday morning both my dad and grandfather went and got donuts. When I was growing up my grandpa would alway go get a box of donuts for us whenever he came to visit. Now that I have kids my dad has picked up what his dad did and buys a box of donuts when my kids are there. Well Saturday morning rolled around and my grandpa left and didn't say where he was going. About five minutes later my dad came out and he left. When they both came back they had both gone to get donuts. One brought back 2 dozen, the other 3 so needless to say we had A LOT of donuts. The kids didn't mind though, and they lasted all weekend long! When we left Sunday evening there were still some in the box!

Addison made this Abraham Lincoln hat at school and was very happy to come home and model it.

Family Bed???

For Christmas John got a subscription to Netflix. One of the movies he checked out we had heard was not appropriate for kids so we agreed we would watch it for ourselves and then make a decision. What is great about the netflix is we also get movies across our PC so that night we told the kids they could pick a movie off of the PC list to watch in our room while we watched John's movie in the front room. They thought that was great. Part way through John's movie I came back to check on them and this is what I found in my bed.

BBQ

John and I had signed up to feed the missionaries one Saturday and that Saturday also happened to be the birthday of the husband of the family John home teaches, and also he and his wifes anniversary, and I am her visiting teacher. We are good friends with them also and my kids love it when Brother "Chips" comes to visit as it usually means he has a treat for them. He works for Frito Lay so when they have the day old stuff he throws it away in his trunk and then brings it to us. :-) Great for our budget and the kids thinks its great. We invited them to come over for a BBQ and to visit. It was a great evening. There will be more pictures to follow as one of their sons friend who is a proffessional photographer came to the party and took A LOT of pictures and he said he would bring me a disk of them when he was done editing them. The picture of the BBQ was John's first attempt at a BBQ. I asked him to go start the BBQ for me and he asked me how many Burquettes to put in and I said either one big bag or two little bags. Well, he put in 2 big bags and we had a very large fire. No worries, when he was done cooking the burgers and brats that were not raw.

Visit at Grandma's With Cousin

Over the course of this last month we have been to my moms house a lot! We went for a week after Christmas, then went back a week later for an extended weekend, and then back two weeks after that to see my other brother Donald, his wife, and step-son. While we were there it was my nephews birthday so the kids enjoyed having cake and ice cream and celebrating their cousins birthday.
