Let's Pack Everything

My mom is here for the kids first day of school like she is every year, but this year decided to stay and help me finish packing as she didn't want to come over for the weekend, drive home for two and a half days and then come right back to spend the next weekend moving us so she is here to stay the week. After taking the boys to school we came back and she started in one room and I started at the oposite end and we were going to work towards each other. I told her she got Eliza for her moving partner, to which she discovered after five, maybe ten minutes she is not the most fun packing partner. Everything you touch whether she knows what it is or not, when you try to put it in the box she "NEEDS" it and takes it back out. She basically unpacks as fast as you pack. My mom came back and said she was given a bad packing partner. We decided to pack Eliza too. We made her, her own box and put her in it. Then turned on Barney and she was set. She left us alone.

Then Nicholas came along and started bugging my mom next so she decided he needed to be "boxed" too. She grabbed the camera and I dropped him in. He is laughing and finding it funny. Just wish the child believed in clothes so sorry for the underware shot.

First Day of School

Yesterday was the boys first day back to school. Addison had a very hard time in the morning with nerves and wasn't sure he wanted to go back to school, but once we got there he was excited to see his friends and "Many of his girlfriends" from last year. This year Vincent is in 3rd grade in Mrs. Navarro's class, and Addison is in Mr. Stinson's 1st grade class.

Birthday Party

Last year in Kindergarten Addison had a little boy in his class that has Asperger's. He had a hard time in class sometimes. One day his teacher came to me and said Addison was a life saver as sometimes when this little boys would have a fit or get frustrated and upset, Addison seemed to be able to calm him down. This little boy took a liking to Addison and wanted to do anything Addison was doing, and if upset Addison could usually calm him down. This little boy did have a full time inclusion aide, but they always made sure Addison's desk was not to far from his. Yesterday was this little boys birthday. His dad called earlier in the week and said, that between him and his wife, they have a large family, so all they ever have is family over for birthday parties, but this little boy was set that he only wanted Addison to come to his party. So, they invited our whole family to come over and join their families in celebrating a birthday. They had a beautiful pool that they kids loved swimming in, and had a bounce house too. They served hot dogs, gold fish, and nilla wafers for the kids for lunch, and Tri Tip, salad, bread, & fruit for the adults (yum). It was a fun afternoon and I am so glad we went. We will be seeing a lot of this little boy again this next year as the school contacted John and I at the end of last year and said that due to recommendations from this little boys teacher and inclusive aid he would do well to be in the same classroom with Addison again if we were okay with them always being placed in the same class together.


They had a beautiful rock water fall that they kids used as a diving board.





Eliza showed no fear and was kicking her little legs and swimming and floating where ever the water took her. Nicholas was a bit more reserved and finally got off the stairs in, but would only float or swim close to the edge so he could grab a hold at any given time.

What Do You Do With An Empty Cupboard

I have been packing since we got home from our last mini weekend vacation. I did the hall closet this morning and it gave the kids a great place to get into for a picture.



I have packed the front room of all pictures and nick nacks, the two hall closets and John has done half of his book shelves so this is what our front room looks like right now.

Nicholas walked though the front room this afternoon and said, "We have too many boxes mommy. I dont think they will fit in our new house" Little does he know we have only just begun! And for all you John Wilder Family members while packing his book shelf he packed four boxes of books and was able to part with three books. Ummmm I guess that is a start considering all the books he packed he has already read........... *Sigh* He still has the other half of the book shelf to go. What is the estimate on how many books he will part with for the second half???????

Short Vacation before School & Work Start

For my birthday and our last weekend of vacation before John had to head back to work, we headed over to the coast to my parents house. We had 4 fun filled days with my parents and nephew who was out from Nebraska. We went to the beach, swimming, blew bubbles, and the park. It was a lot of fun as usual.

First Day of Preschool

Nicholas started preschool today. He was very nervous and cried last night and this morning, but did well after we got there. He just hid behind me for the first little while and would not talk to any of the teachers, but once we headed outside he walked right away from me and started playing. I watched for a little while then headed on my way. He is attending Sunny Acres Pre-K Program like Vincent and Addison did. I love their program there, and I am so happy and excited for him. We are also thankful for my parents generosity in making it financially possible for him to go.
